2008 Conference: For 2008 the Life on Wheels conference is moving to Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.…Lewiston is located at the confluence of the the Clearwater and Snake Rivers and is the gateway to Idaho's Hell Canyon. Lewis and Clark first wrote about this area in 1798 after their trek across the Bitterroot Mountains.

Pre-conference: LOW Personal Touch…Life on Wheels Personal Touch Pre-conferences are geared to the needs of any RV owners, especially newbies, who are uncomfortable with the operation of their rigs. Lewiston and the surrounding area…National Geographic featured this region in their article "A Paradise Called The Palouse." Another beautiful part of our region is the acclaimed "Gateway to Hells Canyon." From Paradise to Hell, it's a country of contrasts...with fertile cropland and timberland interwoven between mountain ridges, river valleys, and deep scenic canyons. Lewiston as a progressive community of 30,000 people offers many cultural attractions as well world famous Snake and Salmon River Jet Boat rides. Shopping venues vary from classy boutique to Wal Mart. A paved bike path follows the river banks surrounding the city and provides cyclists a really unique riding experience.For more information, visit www.lewistonchamber.org

Location…The conference is held on the beautiful Lewis-Clark State College campus. All class rooms are air conditioned and within easy walking distance of the on-campus RV parking. The campus is at the center of this map.

Parking and Power on Campus…Due to skyrocketing prices for generator rental and diesel fuel, Life on Wheels is not able to offer 30 amp power on campus. For those of you with RVs you have two choices:

1. Free dry camping on campus and everyone will be able to run their own generators. There will be a separate parking area for those without generators and those who object to being parked with others running generators. We expect it to be quite hot in Lewiston at this time of the year and it would be quite uncomfortable without air conditioning. For those of you with pets, this is a special concern. If you opt for this plan, you should arrive with a full fuel tank, full water tank, and empty holding tanks. There will be a water source and honey wagon service available. 2. Park at one of the local campgrounds on your own and drive to and from the college. They are all close by. That way you can have services of your choice 24 hours a day. (See the list of campgrounds below. You should make your reservation now.)

Special Activites…There are a variety of exciting pre & post-conference events available including rafting the Salmon River, jet boating the Snake River, Idaho Repertory Theatre, garnet digging trip to help make this a truly memorable RVing experience.

Registration Fee…The registration fee of $279 per person includes courses, some evening entertainment and an ice cream social. The $140 RV parking fee includes 30 amp electricity hookups and water services. "Honey Wagon" fees are extra. People who wish to dry camp (no power or water) on campus for the week will be charged a $25 parking fee.

Enrollment…Enrollment is limited to 300 participants and 140 RVs on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to guarantee a spot in the conference we encourage you to register as early as possible. Room for more RVs is available off campus at 5 RV parks and two state parks all with full hookups.

Cancellation Policy…There is a $25 per person cancellation fee. No refunds after 30 days prior to the conference start date; however, you are welcome to send someone else in your place or transfer to another conference.
